THE DALLAS OPERA GUILD HOLDS ANNOUNCEMENT PARTY AT AZURE
HARWOOD, DALLAS, TEXAS, FEBRUARY 26, 2008: The Dallas Opera Guild announced the details of their upcoming 50th Anniversary Celebration Gala, 900 Nights of Opera, to members during a recent party at Azure. Azure provided hors d’oeuvres and wine to guests in its recently finished social room and balcony, featuring a modern water fountain with the signature azure lighting and plush outdoor seating. The gala will be held at 6:30 p.m. on May 10, 2008, at The Westin Galleria Hotel, where guests will enjoy an evening of entertainment, a silent auction, dinner, and dancing to the music of Linda Petty.
ABOUT THE DALLAS OPERA GUILD
The Dallas Opera Guild contributes to the growth of the Dallas Opera by its numerous activities and programs held throughout the year. The Dallas Opera Guild sponsors a Vocal Competition each year to provide young Texas adult winners with financial support to pursue their opera careers. The competition will take place April 19, 2008, and is free and open to the public. Opera Insights is another program that is offered the Sunday afternoon prior to each opening night, providing discussions about feature lead singers, conductors, directors, and The Dallas Opera Staff, and a reception precedes the program. The Adopt an Artist program welcomes visiting artists to Dallas, providing host families for the artists to assure everything from transportation to stay is made available to them.
The Guild also plans opera trips to other cities to attend operas, concerts, and special cultural events. On the local level, special events offer Guild members the opportunity to participate in arranged tours or visits associated with the arts in general. ABOUT AZURE
The newest addition to Harwood, Dallas is Azure. The 31-story high rise is the tallest condominium residence tower in Uptown and the first in Harwood.
