DALLAS, Texas – October 15, 2007 – The Greater Dallas Chamber has presented Gabriel Barbier-Mueller and his wife, Ann, with the Individual Achievement Award as part of its International Business Achievement Awards (IBAA) for 2007. The Barbier-Muellers were honored for their work on behalf of area arts and culture, and are the first husband and wife team to receive the award. The Chamber held the awards ceremony in Dallas at the Adam’s Mark Hotel earlier this month.
“The Greater Dallas Chamber is honored to recognize two of the most active and respected members of the DFW region’s international business, cultural and arts communities,” said Victor Almeida, chairman of the Chamber’s International Business Council and president and CEO of Interceramic, Inc. “Gabriel and Ann are recipients of the Chamber’s International Business Achievement Award in the individual category for their commitment to the development of the Dallas region as an internationally renowned business hub, arts and cultural center and sustainable building pioneer.”
As an avid arts supporter, Mr. Barbier-Mueller serves on the boards of the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, the Dallas Museum of Natural History, and is the new Legacy Chairman of the North Texas Business for Culture and the Arts board of directors.
Mr. Barbier-Mueller, who was born in Geneva, , is also a vice-chairman of the Barbier-Mueller Museum in Geneva and Barcelona and on the International Council of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In addition, he serves as the Honorary Consul of Switzerland for North Texas.

His wife, Ann Barbier-Mueller, serves on the Board of Governors of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Junior League of Dallas, Chancellor Council at the University of Texas, and as a former board member of the Dallas Museum of Art.
