Dallas -
Harwood International and Reading & Radio Resource have partnered to host the second annual “Holiday in Harwood” tree lighting ceremony and the first annual “Festival of Trees” from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Marie Gabrielle Restaurant and Gardens. The festivities will include the lighting of the tallest tree in Uptown and the Festival of Trees silent auction, where the public is invited to view trees and bid on their favorite tree.
The event is free and open to the public, and all proceeds from the auction will benefit Reading & Radio Resource. Individuals and companies are invited to decorate and donate themed trees to be included in the Festival. For specifications and requirements, please call (214) 871-7668.
The Harwood tree, which towers more than 80 feet high with 9,210 lights and 3,676 ornaments, is the centerpiece of the Marie Gabrielle Gardens, a 1.5-acre European garden within Harwood District. The tree has 1,838 branches, weighs over 28,000 pounds, and has 18 miles of wiring and garland. Attendees are encouraged to park in the Marie Gabrielle parking garage, located at 2728 N.
